Jackie started painting at an early age. Later, time spent as a colourist of Antiquarian prints, taught her about the subtleties of light, tone - and subtlety when using colours. Even later she studied English at university and literature has always been a constant inspiration, creating for her an endless supply of images. Jackie’s aim is to communicate the essence of an atmosphere which evokes stillness and silence while using light. The corner of an empty room is a favourite subject; as is the haunting nature of the marshes and surrounding water. Her work has been exhibited in London galleries - twice at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition - and other galleries in the UK.

For many years Jackie divided her time between London and France. She now lives on the Suffolk coast and she is part of Walberswick Open Studios.
